Takahiro Kikawada completed his undergraduate and Masters degree in Agricultural Science at Iwate university, Japan, before completing his PhD at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. His thesis was entitled ‘Molecular and physiological mechanisms of successful induction of anhydrobiosis in Polypedilum vanderplanki’.
Since then he has conducted research at the National Institute of Sericological and Entomological Sciences, Japan, and the National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences, Japan. He is currently Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo, and Senior Principal Researcher at the Institute of Agrobiological Sciences, NARO.
Dr. Kikawada has published extensively, and holds 4 patents.
